Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy’s largest bank and one of the largest in Europe, continues its process of growth and development by focusing on innovation and new technologies. The bank, led by CEO Carlo Messina, has just announced the signing of a strategic partnership with iGenius, a company at the forefront of generative artificial intelligence applied to business intelligence (BI).

iGenius offers an innovative platform that simplifies access to data through the use of natural language, providing a highly customised professional configuration, tailored to the specific needs of end users, and automating a range of complex functions. Intesa Sanpaolo, in this context, will adopt iGenius’ generative business intelligence solution, known as ‘Crystal‘, already successfully tested within the Group through Fideuram Private Banking.

Crystal, based on cutting-edge GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) technology, harnesses the power of generative artificial intelligence to provide in-depth analysis and effective decision-making tools. The platform is able to process large amounts of data and extract targeted solutions to support decision-making processes and business projects. The adoption of these BI solutions will enable Intesa Sanpaolo to further enhance its business processes, improving efficiency and overall productivity.

Marco Ditta, Head of Data & Artificial Intelligence at Intesa Sanpaolo, emphasised: “The use of artificial intelligence solutions, such as the one offered by iGenius, together with the use of big data, is becoming increasingly crucial in the world of work and in the corporate landscape. It is therefore essential to adopt an approach that puts the human being at the centre of projects and processes. This approach puts people’s needs at the forefront of the business organisation and uses technology to support and enhance professional skills, creating a more efficient and effective working environment. In this context, people are involved in defining new solutions and processes and are trained in the use of new technologies, thus contributing to the evolution of the way of working in this new era“.

Uljan Sharka, Founder and CEO of iGenius, added: “The partnership between Intesa Sanpaolo and iGenius is a clear sign of the direction in which the future of work is heading, where advanced technologies such as generative BI will play a key role in driving business success and data-driven decisions. Both companies embrace an individual-centric approach, ensuring benefits for all stakeholders, with employees and customers at the forefront. In addition, iGenius and Intesa Sanpaolo are collaborating to develop products with a strong focus on sustainability, introducing intelligent ways of processing data that optimise the use of computational resources, thus helping to reduce the environmental impact of data centres“.
